National Roads

The Statistics under road maintenance needs met paint a picture of the maintenance budget available relative to the total budget requirement annually. Maintenance of roads needs to be given much attention in order to deal with the backlog and avoid future depreciation of road infrastructure. Percentage of road maintenance needs met in the in recent financial years is as indicated in figure 5 below.
The maintenance need is not given much attention in Uganda as explained by the low percentage of met maintenance requirement. This explains why there is high depreciation of roads in Uganda.
